Hello!

It's Wednesday and I've made it through lecture this week. Tomorrow will be my first clinical day of the semester and I'll be starting at VacaValley Hospital. My anxiety level is not extremely high, so that's good. I'll be on the evening shift. Hopefully I can stay awake. I'll be starting on the med/surg floor but in not too long I'll be in the ER and ICU. Very exciting!

I am also thinking about attending California State University, Chico for my BSN. I'm going to an RN-BSN Advising Session next tuesday. I hope Chico is a good fit. It is an online program so I'll only need to drive to Chico once or twice a semester.

I inserted an IV

Today I inserted my first IV line into a real person (another student). It was awesome. I did it in the inside of the elbow, which is an easier spot to get, but for my first day I thought that would be okay. I will need to have four more successful "sticks" when I am in the hospital during my clinical rotation. Practice, practice, practice. I also got my first IV into my arm by another student. Big Day! I hope to have a picture of it soon.

School is Starting!

Seth and I are starting school on Monday. This will be my last semester of Nursing School. It will be the busiest/hardest semester yet. It will be a cool experience though. This will be our semester for intensive care, including the ER. We will also be finally learning how to do IV sticks. So if anyone wants to volunteer let me know, haha.

The Final is Over!!!

Yeah!!! Class is over until fall.... That's right, I passed the class and am now able to continue to the second semester! I got 87% on the final and overall 90% in the class. (still a B, but still awesome.) Thank you everyone for all the enthusiasm and support. We're very happy. :-)

Here's a picture of Monty helping me study last night for my final.
